Volunteers Participate in Orphan Education
Our aim is to develop a child-partnership project in Kagumu and a childcare and youth centre
We have many orphaned children studying at neighbouring government primary schools in Kagumu. However, the needs are great and the study environment also is not one that a serious educator would for a child.
Why orphan education? Children face inadequate nutrition, basic health care, housing, and clothing. Very few of these families can afford to send their children to school, with young girls at particular risk of being denied formal or vocational education. In both urban and rural areas, many orphans are struggling to survive on their own in child-headed households. Many others are forced to live on the street.

We have over 200 recorded orphans many of them still in primary school in the Kagumu area alone. MSOCD struggles to provide for their welfare and education.
