About us
This organization was founded in response to the challenges that Uganda faces as a developing country and having emerged from many decades of war and political instability. Eastern Uganda where we work has among other problems, hunger, economic stagnation, biting poverty, low literacy levels, and prevalent Malaria and HIV/AIDS diseases that continue their deadly foray into every village. This calls for innovative actions that are designed and implemented to bring about change. MSOCD is actively pursuing this at the grass roots.
We believe that we can save more lives

Deserving People
The Mustard Seed Organization for Community Development is an indigenous not-for-profit organization with a prime focus on providing formal education and vocational training care and prevention to desperately poor
The organization was founded in 2013 and in 2015, it received recognition and registration by the government of the Republic of Uganda as both a community-based organization and a non-governmental organization. We are situated in Kibuku District, in Eastern Uganda
The community of the Bagwere, Bagisu and the Iteso people whom we serve also experiences early parenthood due to defilement of girls as early 12 years old. Cultural beliefs of witchcraft, polygamy, superstition and excessive drinking and use of drugs are destroying the community. These challenges put MSOCD to work in order to address such problems.
As development partners, we are more effective at grass root levels where government hands are far. MSOCD is helping people in rural communities as well as helping to facilitate their social, spiritual, educational and economic well being.
OUR VISION
To transform the lives of children, youth, women and the elderly holistically and with love to enable them come out of physical and spiritual suffering, illiteracy, poverty, disease, and other causes of human suffering.
OUR MISSION
MSOCD empowers and/or builds the capacity of children, youth, women and the elderly by enabling them to be self-reliant, to intervene and to respond to their needs (physical, spiritual, educational and emotional) individually, in their families and in the communities they live in.
In executing this mission we are embracing the Holy scriptural messages in Psalms 68:5-6, James 1:27, Matthew 25:35-45: “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in His holy habitation. God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity, but the rebellious dwell in a parched land “.
