Healthcare
MSOCD’s priority is providing healthcare insurance to OVC children in schools. Following Uganda’s Ministry of Health warning on the new infections of HIV/AIDS in Uganda, MSOCD reminds all people of the current state of affairs as regards the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Uganda. We are involved in HIV/AIDS sensitization programs based on moral conduct and behavior change. To some people, AIDS is still a taboo while to others, it is charm or witchcraft. We do home-to-home visits of those who are sick. Some people are still ignorant of HIV/AIDS. Our successful achievement has been in sensitizing school children to the risk of contracting HIV. We have been teaching students the effects of AIDS on our communities.
Through seminars, we teach children facts about HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and sexually transmitted diseases; what it is not, how it spreads, how you can protect yourself from getting infected, and emotional and psychological care and support for the sick. We offer material and medical support to HIV/AIDS patients. MSOCD together with other organizations joined to do community sensitization and house-to-house visits.
As our aim is to bring medical support to the sick in local communities, We welcome Medical, Nursing, Pre-med students or healthcare professionals looking for medical volunteer opportunities to support the healthcare system in Uganda or wish to gain hands-on experience in the field of medicine.
We organize healthcare and medical volunteer abroad programs in Uganda. These medical mission trips are suitable for medical students, healthcare practitioners, pre-med & pre-nursing students as well as aspiring medical professionals.
